MANIFESTO

Our dream

gold_bullet-03   We dream of a kind and fair South Africa where the bountiful fruits of our land are shared by all

gold_bullet-03   A land where hope has rekindled, and the rainbow is starting to peek from behind the clouds

gold_bullet-03   A country where the poorest, loneliest and lowliest have food, shelter, warmth, and a chance at a better life

gold_bullet-03   A country where the youth are excited about the future and our communities are safe and caring

gold_bullet-03   A country where our borders are secure, and our African sisters and brothers are treated with respect

A country at war

gold_bullet-03   A country where our borders are secure, and our African sisters and brothers are treated with respect

gold_bullet-03   A war on poverty, inequality, starvation, violence, looting, burning, incompetence, greed, corruption, selfishness & a total lack of empathy

gold_bullet-03   But above all a war against the hopelessness, despair and resignation, that is the lived reality of so many of our countrymen

gold_bullet-03   When you’re at war you mobilize every citizen, every resource, and every last ounce of courage and defeat the enemy

Gift

gold_bullet-03   Our liberators have gifted us a vibrant constitutional democracy and an effective electoral commission

gold_bullet-03   We have a free and independent press

gold_bullet-03   These are precious gifts that can never be taken for granted.

Apartheid

gold_bullet-03   Was a crime against humanity, perpetrated by a vicious and cruel state

gold_bullet-03   Many brave freedom fighters fought a just war to liberate South Africa,

gold_bullet-03   We are forever grateful for the deep personal sacrifices made by them – many paid the ultimate price and deserve our undying respect

Economic Freedom

gold_bullet-03   Twenty-eight years after liberation the fight for economic freedom must gain a renewed sense of energy and purpose – too many have been left  behind

gold_bullet-03   There will never be peace in South Africa when children go to bed hungry, and mothers’ despair at where the next meal is coming from

gold_bullet-03   Capitalism has not delivered economic freedom and a mixed economy is needed

White South-Africa

gold_bullet-03   32 years after the release of Nelson Mandela White South Africa remains privileged, entitled and largely indifferent to the plight of their countrymen

gold_bullet-03   Equality of opportunity is meaningless in South Africa unless supported by a fundamental shift in the structure of power

Land

gold_bullet-03    We declare that South Africa belongs to all who live in it

gold_bullet-03    All are entitled to a secure place to build a home they can afford, in a community and place of their choosing

gold_bullet-03    We acknowledge that willing buyer willing seller has not addressed the cruel spacial legacies of apartheid planning and that direct, and decisive, state intervention is required to break the perpetual cycle of bitter inequality.

Markets

gold_bullet-03   The free market remains the best tool at our disposal to generate wealth and that communism is a bankrupt philosophy based on spreading misery equally, whilst still leaving the bitter taste of elites

Agency

gold_bullet-03   Government is not here to solve every problem

gold_bullet-03   Our citizens remain responsible for their own future and that the best help is right at the end of your arm

gold_bullet-03   Our people cannot be passive in their economic liberation, every man and woman has to be their own savior

Black Economic Empowerment

gold_bullet-03   Made complete sense after the fall apartheid

gold_bullet-03   Was a critical tool in building a viable black middle class

gold_bullet-03   Has now gone past it’s sell by date and is actively hindering the progress and wellbeing of South Africa

gold_bullet-03   Competence and integrity are not a color and can be the only basis for taking our country forward

Cry the beloved country as the mist lifts, slow, soft, shy at first, the sun peeks in, then flooding our beautiful land with dazzling light and hope. We have the most beautiful country in the world. Let us turn our shoulders to the hard, dirty, grinding work of fixing it, one day at a time.
